If one thing Porto Santo is is a very popular holiday destination in Portugal, but in Spain it is quite unknown. Perhaps it is because this is primarily a destination of sun and sand and in Spain it is not that we have scarce places. This is probably because there are not many connections but they pass through at least one stop in Portugal. Porto Santo has one of the very best beaches of the Atlantic Ocean. It's not crowded in the summer months, so it is a very good place to visit, especially if combined with the nearby island Madeira. Madeira come precisely from the bulk of visitors to Porto Santo, many of them in packages that offer full-day visits to the island.

Aside from the fantastic beach, perhaps the other noteworthy point is that Porto Santo was home to Christopher Columbus, before the launch of the adventure of the Americas. The house of Christopher Columbus is actually there in the city and is now a restored museum that you can visit. You can get to Porto Santo either by plane (20 minutes from Madeira) or boat. One or two boats leave every day, and take 2.5 hours to arrive.

Nonostante la sua lunga spiaggia di sabbia dorata, questa piccola isola è ancora sconosciuta al turismo di massa, e ciò la rende ancora più bella e gradevole. Appartenente all'arcipelago di Madeira, e distante solo poche decine di chilometri dall'isola maggiore, Porto Santo presenta paesaggi completamente differenti dall'isola sorella; infatti è piuttosto arida, e tutto il verde che si ammira è stato introdotto completamente dall'uomo. La bellissima spiaggia di sabbia che percorre tutto il lato sud dell'isola permette di godere della vita da mare, mentre l'entroterra propone sentieri ideali per le escursioni, con panorami da non perdere.

Despite its long golden sandy beach, this small island is still unknown to mass tourism and this makes it even more beautiful and attractive. Belonging to the archipelago of Madeira, and just a few tens of kilometers from the major, Porto Santo has completely different landscapes sister island, because it is rather dry, and all the green that can be seen has been completely introduced by man. The beautiful sandy beach that runs along the entire south side of the island allows you to enjoy life by the sea, while the interior offers trails ideal for hiking, with views not to be missed.
