A historical site
When I saw this castle my mind was immediately filled with images of the story of King Arthur. About 6 miles from the city of Portsmouth, we have a really well-preserved example of a Roman fortification. It is the oldest building in the region, and the village of Portchester grew up around the castle. The castle in its most recent form consists of an outdoor courtyard with gates and bastions, and an inner courtyard with a moat and tower.
