Os limites da Quinta Imperial no Rio de Janeiro
Os limites da propriedade da Família Imperial, a Quinta da Boa Vista, eram demarcados pelo Portão da Cancela, que separava a residência do Campo de São Cristóvão. Originalmente o portão estava ligado à propriedade, mas com o passar do tempo, o mesmo foi desmembrado de seu conjunto. Uma curiosidade, é que a obra, tem símbolos da República Brasileira (com um movimento que ocorreu nos anos iniciais da república, onde diversos topônimos ligados ao período colonial e principalmente ao monárquico foram renomeados), pois no final do século XIX e início dos XX, a Quinta passaria por uma reforma e a entrada do lugar se chamaria Portão da República. Atualmente, para preservar a o monumento, o mesmo foi isolado no meio da Praça Virgílio de Melo Franco. Portanto, esta obra reflete dois momentos da história brasileira, além de demonstrar o crescimento da cidade do Rio de Janeiro.
The boundaries of the property of Famlia Imperial, Quinta da Boa Vista, were marked by the Porto da Cancela, separating the residence of So Cristvo field. Originally the port was attached property but over time it was separated from whole. A curiosity that the work has symbols of the Brazilian Republic (with a movement that occurred in the early years of the republic, where several topnimos linked to the colonial period and especially the monrquico were renamed) because at the end of the nineteenth century and beginning of XX, Fifth would undergo a renovation and the entrance of the place would be called Port of the Republic. Currently, to preserve the monument, it was isolated in the middle of Praa Virglio de Melo Franco. Therefore, this work reflects two moments of Brazilian history, in addition to demonstrating the growth of the city of Rio de Janeiro.
