ANADEL
Port of Alexandria
Alexandria is the second largest city in Egypt and the country's main port. It is situated in the delta of the Nile River, and is set on a peninsula near the foot of the Mediterranean waters. Since ancient times two ports had existed in Alexandria. In 1870 a new breakwater was built, which was renovated in 1906, this expanded the area of the western port making it the largest in the Eastern Mediterranean area. It supports 80% of Egypt's foreign maritime traffic, as it can accommodate up to 250 large vessels, and it is where the pipeline terminal Suez-Cairo-Alexandria ends with its oil refinery and has the commercial center, customs offices and numerous warehouses.
