Pontarlier Museum

Installé depuis 1982 dans une grande demeure bourgeoise, le musée municipal de Pontarlier présente l'histoire de la ville depuis ses origines jusqu'à nos jours. Mêlant beaux-arts, archéologie, gravures documentaires, affiches publicitaires et objets du quotidien, ce musée propose une immersion originale pour aborder la ville. Le premier étage accueille des expositions temporaires. Tout une partie du musée est consacrée à l'histoire de l'absinthe. Des alambics d'époque sont exposées. L'occasion de s'initier à cet alcool controversé avant d'aller en faire la dégustation (avec modération) à la distillerie Pontarlier-Anis de François Guy.

Housed since 1982 in a large mansion, the city of Pontarlier museum presents the history of the city from its origins until today. Combining fine art, archeology, literature prints, billboards and everyday objects, this museum offers a unique immersion approach the city. The first floor hosts temporary exhibitions. Any part of the museum is devoted to the history of absinthe. Stills of time are exposed.
