Pons
The Seugne River passes under the watchful eye of the Castle Pons. Located on the Santiago Pilgrimage route, this location was a former stronghold of Protestantism, so its fortification was attacked many times and never defeated. It has a prominent religious heritage as the power of the clergy in this region quickly spread during this time. The support of the lords of the area encouraged the construction of many majestic buildings of worship which still can be visited, such as the church of Saint-Vivien or the church of Notre-Dame de l'Hôpital-Neuf. The Old Castle is the main tourist attraction of Pons.
