Haven for sea lions

This reserve, which is a few kilometers from the town of Carmel By-the-Sea, is designed to preserve the delicate natural ecosystem of this stretch of the Pacific coast. It's a haven for many species of flora and fauna, including sea lions and the rare Monterey cypress. Several paths take you around the most beautiful area of the park, including Bird Island.
