Intriguing historic site in Los Angeles
Point Fermin Lighthouse, located in Point Fermin Park in San Pedro, is a historic site that is now a museum. It is free to visit (although donations are suggested) with guided tours at 1, 2 and 3 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. The Victorian architecture style lighthouse was built in 1874 and was the first navigational light into the San Pedro Bay. The museum is filled with artifacts, such as the lens used in the lighthouse, as well as replicas of furniture that was formerly in the house. There are also some parts of the building that are original (including a panel on the wall and the bathtub in the bathroom).
