Plessis-Bourré Castle

The castle of Plessis-Bourre is spectacular! One of the most wonderful monuments of Pays de la Loire. Its perfect condition make this castle is a must stop on our route through the region. The silhouettes of the tall towers jaggedly tear into the delicate blue sky landscape of the region. The scenery, quiet and intimate, is lost in the distance of the valleys of vineyards. The setting could not be better. Among roads and valleys, no one would expect to find Plessis-Bourre here. This magnificent fifteenth-century castle has a personality. Stories as diverse as Joan of Arc, Louis XVI or even the blatant Fanfan la Tulipe are immortalized in those frames of film of the mid-90s.
