La falta de plazas en la ciudad es tan evidente que en los últimos años el ayuntamiento de Larnaka está inventándose lugares céntricos en donde poder ubicar nuevas plazas. En la época de la colonización británica, estos prohibieron tajántemente construir plazas en donde el populacho pudiese reunirse, ahora la falta de plazas en la ciudad (y en todo el país), es muy evidente.
