Playa de Ostende

Ostend Beach in Castro Urdiales, is a newly created beach, and therefore artificial sand was used. It's shaped like a shell and it has all the usual amenities: bathrooms, showers, first aid station. In addition to there being an area for sports and games. The artificial sand is composed of small gray pebbles, so it's not as comfortable to walk or lie on as real beach sand is. The waters are fairly calm here, although sometimes there's an undertow, so you have to exercise some caution and not go too far. There's a sports center situated near the beach, and until recently, it was the only one in town.
