Place Gambetta

The Place Gambetta is the ideal location from which to start a tour of the grand old streets of the town of Pezenas (Hérault, Languedoc-Roussillon). In fact, the guided tours organized by the city's Tourist Office are well worth doing and provide some very interesting insights into the area ('https://www.herault-tourisme.com/'). The old town of Pezenas has remained virtually intact over the years (most buildings and streets date from the XVI-XVII), primarily thanks to the French state railway company which chose not to build train tracks through the middle of the city and do a "by-pass" around the centre instead.
