Pius XII Monument

In front of the Monument to Alberto Cruz, across the Largo da Senhora-Branca-A, is this monument dedicated to Pope Pius XII. It's a granite pedestal with a bronze statue of this Pope, wearing a tunic with his open arms (a sign of welcome). There's a commemorative inscription indicating that the monument was commissioned by the Diocese of Braga in 1957, a year before his death.
