Pisco

Situated 300km southeast of Lima on the Pacific coast, this was one of the places worst affected by the earthquake which struck a couple of years ago. Its proximity to the Paracas National Reserve makes it a starting point for expeditions to both the Reserve and its coastline, particularly the Ballestas Islands, a haven for sea lions and birds. The photos are taken a year before the earthquake during which the churches were completely ruined.
