Piscinas das Mares

En Matosinhos, a unos diez kilómetros de Porto (Portugal) podemos visitar las Piscinas das Marés, obra encaragada a un joven arquitecto, Álvaro Siza, y construida en los años '60. Están en la playa de Leça, son de agua salada y se hicieron con la idea de que los bañistas pudiesen disfrutar sin el peligro de una zona algo con fuerte oleaje y corrientes. El arquitecto comprendió que no podía luchar contra el Atlántico así que se adaptó al entorno y se adelantó a las ahora conocidas infinity pools. Situadas sobre roca, apenas se distingue la parte artificial de la natural. Hay dos piscinas, para adultos y niños, también vestuarios y cafetería, todo con materiales de colores acordes con el espacio. Están abiertas desde las 9 de la mañana hasta las 19, y pasar el día cuesta 6 euros ( la mitad para niños). Fueron declaradas Monumento Nacional en 2006. Una muy buena opción para escapar de Porto y darse un relajante baño viendo el Atlántico, eso si no hay demasiada gente, mejor ir a primera hora. Es muy visitado también por los amantes de la arquitectura de Siza, ganador del premio Pritzker en 1992 y una de las referencias de la Escuela de Porto.
