A popular recreation area
The Algaida is populated almost entirely by a man-made pine forest - the wood and pine fruits are collected. Currently this place, which is horizontal and blue with morning mists, has become a chameleon habitat, one species punished after the gradual loss of its traditional place of existence, the scrub and coastal dunes. It's a popular recreation area for Sanlúcar residents and different plant species exist, mainly the stone pine, accompanied by a dense thicket formed by cistus, mastic trees and heather. It has a unique birdlife environment with black storks, cranes, flamingos, cabochons and a long list of insectivorous birds.
