This building was built in the seventeenth century by Chinese sailors who escaped from Fujian Province after the fall of Ming Dynasty. The temple of this complex is dedicated to the goddess of the sea and protector of fishermen and sailors, Thien Hau. This was the meeting place for sailors and Chinese merchants. They met in these assembly rooms primarily for communicating in their own language. On February 17, 1990, it was declared a national historical relic.
