Perda 'e Liana

Starting at the small town of Lanusei, you can enter the Arzana region and arrive at Perda 'e Liana, one of the most beautiful nature reserves in all of Sardinia. The distinctive chimney-shaped rock formation is visible for miles and results from a long sedimentation process when the island was under water (in fact, the whole area is full of marine fossils). As you climb to the top of the rock tower, the vegetation gets scarce but your nostrils will be filled with the aroma of wild thyme and other herbs as well as lilies and wild roses. If you're lucky, you might see a wild sheep, boar, or eagle on your hike, or at least see their trails on the path.

Perda 'e Liana has a special place in my heart. I don't know if it's the fact that you can see it from the entire region, or its remote location, or its pristine environment, or all the legends that surround it (it's where the devil lives), or all or none of the above. The fact is that this natural rock tower has always held a fascinating attraction for me. Whether you see it in sun, snow, or fog, it always provokes some sort of emotional reaction. As soon as you approach the "tacchi" (peak), you'll start seeing herds of wild sheep that inhabit the area and even eagles in flight. One word of advice:
