Hostel with History ...
I want to recount my experience in Pisa, since I had spoken ill of the Pisans. Nothing is further from reality. I went with my husband and 3 children, we stayed at the Pensione Renacente, or what in Spain we would call a hostel. When the door opened and I saw the entrance I thought we screwed up, but instead, when we reached the second floor, where the reception is, I found the lady of the house. Maja is more! An elderly lady, super friendly and playful. She explained that the hostel is an old Castelletto building from 1600. She instructed us how to get the car to our very door. The lady did not speak any Spanish, but she tried her best to be understood.
Once installed, she recommended a place to eat and called to tell them to treat us as well. Tavola calda is a simple restaurant, but when you got there and said that we were staying at Pensione Rinacente we were treated like true kings. They served us at the table, treatment which we did not see any other client receive, they strove their best to explain everything and best of all, it did not exceed 35 euros! Each child ate a plate with soda, two adults and 2 courses with drinks and coffee. I certainly recommend that you go through this - Il Baroneto is on Via Cavalca, 62
