Pelourinho of Salzedas

In Portugal it is very common to see "pelourinhos" or picks (many are declared Property of Public Interest), especially in rural areas, and Salzedas is no exception. This pelourinho is in the main square, opposite the Source and Monastery of Santa Maria. It is made of granite and consists of a staggered basis in which is supported a fluted column topped with a cross, and on which shines a plate with the coat of arms. It was a place of public execution.
