Pedra do Sal

A Pedra do Sal é um local desconhecido até para cariocas. Aos pés do Morro da Conceição, e em volta de uma Rocha, o local foi ponto de desembarque de inúmeros Africanos vindos ao Brasil durante 1600 e 1800. Berço da Cultura Africana no Rio a área é tombada pelo Patrimônio Histórico Cultural. Durante anos, foi ponto de encontro de negros forros e baianos para rituais religiosos. Foi também nesse local que Donga, Pinxiguinha e Heitor dos Prazeres se encontravam para compor o ritmo que hoje conhecemos coo o tão amado "Samba". Todas as segundas e sextas-feiras ocorre a melhor roda de samba da cidade. Com duração de aproximadamente 4 horas (20:00 às 00:00) é diversão certa e gratuita em um local que a história fala por si só.

Pedra do Sal is a place unknown even to locals. At the foot of Morro da Conceição, and around a rock, the site was the landing point for many Africans coming to Brazil for 1600 and 1800. Cradle of African Culture in the Rio area is listed as a Historic Cultural. For years, it was a meeting point for black liners and Bahia for religious rituals. It was also there that Donga, Pinxiguinha and Heitor dos Prazeres were to compose the rhythm that we know today as the beloved coo "Samba". Every Monday and Friday is the best samba of the city. Lasting approximately 4 hours (20:00 to 00:00) is some fun and free in a location that the story speaks for itself.

Tous les lundis soir à Rio, c’est Samba à Pedra do Sal. La Pedra do Sal c’est le berceau de la Samba au Brésil. Les musiciens se retrouvent depuis des années sur la place au pied de la Pedra do Sal, l’énorme “Pierre de sel” où l’on débarquait le sel importé du Portugal au Brésil, à côté du du marché aux esclaves. Every Monday evening at Rio is Pedra do Sal Samba. Pedra do Sal is the birthplace of Samba in Brazil. The musicians for years to find the place at the foot of the Pedra do Sal, the enormous "stone salt" where we landed imported from Portugal to Brazil salt, next to the slave market.
