This walk is a real joy
On a sunny day this walk is a real joy. On one side the sea, and on the other a succession of stately homes and palaces where the bourgeoisie lived, and finally the marina and Ereaga beach. The tour can also be done by bike, as there is a bike path the whole way. What is not advisable is to go by car, there is no car park. The mansions are amazing, true mansions surrounded by landscaped areas. Almost all designed by architect Manuel Maria Smith. Some of the most significant are: Lezama Leguizamón, which highlights the enormous tower built under inspiration Monterrey Palace of Salamanca; The Palace
Mudela, 1910; The Palace Ampuero, neomontañés style, built in 1928; The Aizgoyen Hamlet, inspired by a typical Basque country; Arriluze Palace, the architect José Luis de Oriol, who used a mix of medieval and Victorian style; The Castaway House, over the sea; and finally The Gallery Atxekolandeta or Punta Begoña, with columns and balustraded terrace, built as a retaining wall on the hillside house of Horacio Echevarrieta.
