Scottish New Years
The festival of Hogmanay in Scotland is the unique Scottish way to celebrate New Year's Eve. The party lasts from around 9pm to half-past midnight, and takes place near monuments and important historical cities. Sitrling Castle provided a picturesque backdrop to the party, organised by Central Radio. We saw local bands like The Shermans (pretty good, by the way), Sandy Thom, the MacDonald Brothers (famous from the X Factor) and "An Evening with Queen" by Gary Mullen, which left me speechless. Closing my eyes, I could have sworn that Freddy Mercury was there in person! After that, there were the New Year bagpipes, drums and fireworks.
