Parterre

Uno de mis sitios favoritos del Parque del Retiro después del Palacio de Cristal es el Parterre. Es un jardín de estilo francés diseñado por Robert de Cotte por mandato de Felipe V en el siglo XVIII quien quería convertir el Retiro en un Real Sitio a la francesa. Ahora ya está muy cambiado desde su primer diseño al haber sufrido varias reformas a lo largo de estos cientos de años. Para acceder directamente al él desde la Puerta de Felipe IV que se encuentra en frente del Casón del Buen Retiro. Quizá lo que más me gusta del Parterre son sus peculiares cipreses con formas rarísimas que no he visto en ningún otro lugar. Otra de mis actividades favoritas cuando estoy allí es quedarme sentada en el mirador que se encuentra en su cabecera al atardecer.

One of my favorite places Retiro Park after Crystal Palace is the Parterre. It is a French-style garden designed by Robert de Cotte mandated by Felipe V in the eighteenth century who wanted to turn the Retreat in the French Royal Site. Now you are much changed since its first design having undergone several reforms over these hundreds of years. For direct access to it from the Puerta de Felipe IV that is in front of the Cason del Buen Retiro. Perhaps what I like most is its peculiar cypress Parterre with rare forms have not seen anywhere else. Another of my favorite activities when I'm there is just sit in the gazebo that is in your head at sunset.

Un rincón muy especial en El Retiro. Merece la pena que, estando en el propio parque te pases a ver este rinconcito con encanto en el que los árboles están cortados de cuento.
