Parroquia de Nuestra Señora del Buen Consejo

La Parroquia de Nuestra Señora del Buen Consejo se encuentra en la colonia “Garita de Jalisco” de la ciudad mexicana de San Luis Potosí. Se trata de una iglesia pequeña, que sin embargo es el punto de encuentro de los habitantes de la zona. Durante los fines de semana, tanto el templo como el atrio están siempre llenos de gente. El interior de la parroquia es típico de una iglesia mexicana de pueblo, con paredes lisas, techo de ladrillo y altar de madera. Anteriormente, la “Garita de Jalisco” no contaba con ningún recinto religioso, por lo que sus habitantes tenían que trasladarse hasta el centro histórico o la zona de “Lomas”. La Parroquia de Nuestra Señora del Buen Consejo fue inaugurada en 1998, y desde entonces se celebra cada 26 de abril una gran fiesta en honor a la virgen. Actualmente, el padre Fernando Ovalle González es el párroco de esta iglesia.

The Parish of Our Lady of Good Counsel was inaugurated in 1998, and since then a great party in honor of the virgin is celebrated every April 26th. Currently, Father Fernando Ovalle González is the parish priest of this church.
