Lidia Blanco
A rewarding view
In the park, there is a main trail and several secondary trails that can be guided by park rangers, in groups or alone. On foot you can see the species of the local flora and fauna. The Morro do Osso, which gives its name to the park, is about 143 meters high and stands on the sidelines of the Guaiba Lake, a natural area of approximately 220 hectares. Between late 2003, and early 2004, Kaingang occupied the west end of the hill, because of the existence of an archaeological site of an Indian burial ground. Hence the name, Morro do Osso! Upon reaching the top, the view of Porto Alegre is rewarding.
