Park of Europe´s Villages

De mi excursión de Semana Santa del 2010 en Cantabria y País Vasco, el día que tocaba visitar Bilbao nos llevaron primero de visita a Gernika, para poder visitar El Parque de Los Pueblos de Europa y sus monumentos, que están en un emplazamiento muy bonito, todo verde, rodeado de árboles, un lugar precioso y muy tranquilo para pasear. Después tuvimos ocasión de ir a La Casa de Juntas, donde se puede apreciar la preciosa y colorida vidriera del techo en su interior, y en el patio exterior se puede ver el viejo Árbol de Gernika, cuyo tronco esta dentro de una bonita estructura de columnas.

El Parque de los Pueblos de Europa fue inaugurado en 1991. Se trata de un hermoso lugar- Está ubicado en Gernika-Lumo, junto a la emblemática Casa de Juntas de la localidad, sede actual de las Juntas Generales de Bizkaia. El Parque alberga dos conocidas esculturas: Gure aitaren etxea (La casa de nuestro padre) del artista donostiarra Eduardo Chillida y Large Figure in a Shelter (Gran imagen en su refugio) del artista inglés Henry Moore. Asimismo, los visitantes podrán contemplar el busto de Humboldt.

The Park of the Peoples of Europe was opened in 1991. It is a beautiful place- is located in Gernika-Lumo, next to the emblematic Casa de Juntas of the town, the current headquarters of the General Assemblies of Bizkaia. The park houses two known sculptures: aitaren Gure etxea (our father"s house) of the San Sebastian artist Eduardo Chillida and Large Figure in a Shelter (Great image refuge) English artist Henry Moore. Also, visitors can see the bust of Humboldt.

Il est très agréable de s’y promener, surtout quand le soleil est au rendez-vous !

It is a beautiful park! It is very nice to walk there, especially when the sun is at the rendezvous!
