Parador de Lerma

The truth it’s always a joy to stay in a Parador, because they are usually charming hotels, located in historic buildings.

Specifically, the one in Lerma is found in the emblematic Ducal Palace, built in the sixteenth century in the Plaza Mayor. It is a four star hotel and has 70 rooms, plus restaurant, cafe and three halls for conferences or meetings.

The decor is in line with the parador chain, although in this case I found it a bit drab, maybe because our room was very large ... it was a double room with two beds, but we also had two living areas, a two seated sofa at the entrance, and a small round table with two chairs next to the balcony, from which there were spectacular views of the Arlanza alluvial plain (other rooms have views over the huge Plaza Mayor).

The rooms are beautifully maintained, neat and very clean. The restaurant, like all paradors’, offers very good food typical of the area and the opportunity to sample it should not be passed up.
