Relaxation in the Mountain
I don’t think I can say a lot more about this beautiful parador, but I will try to think of some words. I was pleasantly surprised with the parador de Argomániz. Maybe it surprised me because it was quite near me, but still it was a place that hadn’t payed attention to, a big mistake, no doubt.
Apart from the quality and level that each parador guarantees just for being a “parador”, Argomániz distinguishes itself thanks to its renovated installations that give the historical palace of the Larrea family a different and surprising touch. It’s 10 minutes away from Vitoria-Gasreiz, Agurain-Salvatierra and the foot of the Älava mountain. This parador is an authentic haven of peace.
The new decoration is amazing and the rooms are very comfortable, as they should be in a parador, which is a symbol of quality and distinction. You notice this from the reception, where the staff is very kind and attentive; the breakfast is marvelous, spectacular, celestial, a great way to spend hours eating while reading the newspaper, amazing.
It is served in the Aletegi restaurant, on the last floor of the hotel, but I’m not going to talk about it in too much detail since it deserves an entry of its own. The cafeteria, located between thick stone walls full of history, with one thousand and one rooms, each one nicer than the previous one, with decorations of another epoch, invites you to relax. Even though the food and beverages are in general expensive, the place is worth a visit, for a nice talk or to taste something while having a glass of wine.
The terrace of the cafeteria, located on a beautiful garden is another point of reference of the palace, a beautiful place that invites you to close your eyes and let yourself go.
Last, what can I say about the views from the bedrooms? You open the window and see the green and fertile valleys of the Llanada Alavesa, with Mount Gorbea in the background and the buildings of Vitoria-Gasteiz nearby. It is a view that allows you to see a clear horizon, full of light and color, which makes the sunrises in this place a real luxury.
I can promise you that each person that stays in this parador will leave with a double feeling: a feeling of wellbeing and plenitude, of having enjoyed a magnificent stay in every way and the sweet and sour feeling of having to leave such a special place, with such good service, having had a great time. But the sweet part is that you know you will come back again.
This is a place worth visiting. The beautiful Larrea palace es one of those places that leave you good memories.
