Most neoclassical buildings in the world
Panepistimiou Avenue is one of the main streets of Athens and one of the streets with the most neoclassical buildings in the world. This beautiful route connects Omonia Square to Syntagma. The walk is well worth it as it's a street full of life and a very impressive set of buildings. You have to take it easy as the avenue is very long and there are many buildings and statues to behold. Within a few meters, you can contemplate the Currency Museum, the Archaeological Society of Athens, the Church of San Dionisio, Athens Eye Hospital, the Bank of Greece, the Academy, the University and the National Library.
