Pan-American Highway in Chilamate

This is a super authentic experience! This road from Alaska to Patagonia is especially curious as it heads to Costa Rica and passes through the outskirts of Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui near the town of Chilamate. It is a busy road with all kinds of vehicles but the trucks really stand out, especially all the great American style trucks. The guide told us that it is a road with many traffic restrictions on special vehicles (mainly trucks) but it seems no one pays much attention to them. Since it´s a very busy area, there are many bars and restaurants "isolated" in the area (we had one that was called "Magellan", next to the river) so that truckers and drivers can stop and enjoy a good gallopinto accompanied by a good "imperial" beer.
