Palazzo Comunale de Orvieto

Junto a la iglesia de San Andrés, este bello palacio es la sede del Ayuntamiento de Orvieto. Probablemente sus orígenes se remontan al siglo XII, y ha sido, con el tiempo, varias veces reformado y ampliado. Después de pasar por la propiedad de varias familias nobles locales y de la iglesia, es en el siglo XVII cuando vuelve a realizar las funciones del Municipio de la ciudad hasta la fecha (aunque la mayoría de las oficina fueron trasladados al antiguo edificio de enfermería del cuartel Piave). El Ayuntamiento tiene la base de arcos que soportan una fina hilera de balcones. Frente al edificio, en lo que antes se llamaba la Piazza Maggiore, hubo una 'fuente de mármol rojo del mismo nombre (Fontana Maggiore), probablemente construida en el siglo XIII.

Located in Republic Square, next to the church of San Andrés, this beautiful palace is home to the City of Orvieto. its origins probably go back to the twelfth century, and has been, over time, several times renovated and expanded. After passing through the ownership of local noble families and the church is in the seventeenth century when it returns to perform the functions of the municipality of the city to date (although most of the office were moved to the old building nursing Piave barracks). The City Council has the base arches that support a thin row of balconies.
