Palazzetto dello Sport Giuseppe Coscioni

Da piccola ricordo che passando davanti a un cantiere, nei pressi dello Stadio San Francesco, mio padre mi annunciò che stavano costruendo un palazzetto dello sport. La prima pietra fu posta negli anni Ottanta e dopo più di trent'anni quel luogo che è stato simbolo del degrado di Nocera Inferiore, degli appalti male affidati, delle cose incompiute, dei soldi sprecati, finalmente ha visto la luce. Oggi il palazzetto esiste, ed è un edificio colorato e moderno in cui praticare sport è un sogno realizzabile. Il palazzetto è dedicato a Giuseppe Coscioni, fondatore della Folgore, storica squadra di pallacanestro di Nocera. La struttura si presta a sostenere le diverse squadre locali, dalla pallavolo, alla pallacanestro, al calcio a 5, con sala riunioni, palestra, ed è stato pensato anche per accogliere grandi eventi e concerti. Un luogo di incontro e condivisione dei valori dello sport.

As a child I remember passing a construction site, near the Stadio San Francesco, my father told me that they were building a sports hall. The building is dedicated to Giuseppe Coscioni, founder of the Thunderbolt, historic basketball team Nocera.
