Lala
Belongs to the Dukes of San Carlos
This 16th century palace is found in the Plaza Mayor of Trujillo, right across from the Tourist Information Office.
It’s name is derived from the fact that it was once property of the Duke of San Carlos. The building was renovated in the 17th century after it was damaged in a fire. It is three stories high and the ground floor has supporting arches. The most notable aspect of its façade is the corner balcony decorated by shield of Vargas y Carvajal and the Mudéjar-style chimney.
You can visit the interior. It has a two-storey cloister done in Classical style and has 16 Tuscan columns in the form of a heart.
