Oviedo and the Meninas of Manolo Valdés

Un buen día de Octubre la ciudad se despertó con 26 nuevas habitantes que destacaban sobre otras por sus casi dos metros de altura y su desmedido sobrepeso ¡nada menos que 900 kilos! Su “look” también era muy atrevido con un aire bastante “retro” que nos hacían recordar a las meninas salidas del cuadro del mismísimo Velázquez . Indagando sobre las nuevas ciudadanas nos enteramos que habían venido de la mano del artista valenciano llamado Manolo Valdés y que se iban a quedar una temporada en nuestra ciudad. Se las veía paseando, todo el día, por el Parque de San Francisco y su lugar preferido era el Paseo de los Álamos pues estaban esperando a ver pasar al Príncipe de Asturias que en esos días entregaba los premios que llevan su nombre. Una vez que consiguieron su cometido, tal como vinieron, se fueron, pero dejaron un grato recuerdo en nuestra ciudad de Oviedo que todavía hoy se comenta.
