Our Lady of the Aurora Church

This church is the most important building to be found in the town of Grazalema. It is the town´s most representative temple, despite being closed for worship. It really is a church built over a Moorish palace. Its current appearance is from the eighteenth century, when it was rebuilt. Its facade is simple yet classical in style, with pilasters at the corners and Archivolts. At the top are its belfry with three bodies. This addition was ordered by the nineteenth-century ecclesiastical authority in time to provide the temples with bells. You can not go inside, because of their poor condition. Anyway it provides good shade to rest quietly in this central square.
