Our Lady of Candelaria
The port of Our Lady of the Candelaria was so named because it was discovered on the 2nd of February (1516), the Day of the Virgin of Candelaria. The port is situated in a truly spectacular setting and permanently hosts all kinds of nautical activities such as the annual International Regatta from Buenos Aires to Punta del Este. It provides anchorage for all types of boats as well as medium craft. Small fishing boats also dock here, providing merchandise to the fishmongers and tourists and attracting sea lions, scavenging for fresh fish providing a truly unforgettable show. Music bands and dancers of tango and candombe will warmly welcome tourists from the cruise ships that dock in the vicinity of the Port.
