Huge fountain at Pile Gate
Onofrio Fountain is a huge fountain located at the entrance of Dubrovnik's Pile Gate. Built by Onofrio della Cava in 1438, it was later damaged by earthquakes, invasions and especially the recent war. But today it still provides water and an opportunity to refresh yourself on a hot summer's day. From 8:00am onwards, it is invaded by hundreds of tourists every day, but at night it's a good bit quieter as there aren't many restaurants in the neighborhood.
