Major Marvel

The old town in San Marino is one of the major marvels of this tiny state. It is not too big and you can walk around it in just one day. The city takes care not to allow vehicles here, so your visit is much more enjoyable as there is not too much noise. The historic town is completely medieval and it is not hard to imagine what life was like at that time. To access it you must pass the Porta di San Francesco. One of the buildings that caught my attention is the Palazzo San Marino Pubblico, a palace in the centre of the old town which was built in the 19th century. The most striking features are its three arches with octagonal pillars and of course, the bell tower.

Walking through the old town you come to a beautiful colourful forest from which you can enjoy wonderful views of the city and you can also see one of its mot curious features, the cable car.
