Magnificent and elegant building
The Old State House is a magnificent and elegant building, located near the Old State Meeting House. It used to be the seat of government and played an important role in American history. This was where the Declaration of Independence was read in public for the first time. Inside you can see an exhibition on the history of Boston. It is open from 9:00 to 5:00, and even Elizabeth II has visited it and made a speech from the balcony! The Boston Massacre took place in front of the building in 1770.
