Lovely view of the village
In the historical center of the town, Ruvine Culdei are the ruins of what was once the Church of Culdei, founded by Irish monks before the Clunian reform of the Middle Ages. Admission is free, and after passing through the cemetery we saw the curiously well-preserved pre-Roman tower, as well as the ruins of what was once the main building. It's a charming place, and has a lovely view of the village. It is believed to have been used until the late fifteenth century, which coincides with the construction of the new local church and the religious reform that began with John Knox in Scotland.
