Kuala Lumpur Railway Station

3 reviews of Kuala Lumpur Railway Station

An important monument

Located close to the Grand Mosque, the old Central Station is one of the most important monuments in the area. It is a building with Moorish architecture, Indian and Victorian, which was built in 1886, and used by the national railway company throughout the twentieth century. Activities have now been transferred to KL Central, but the old station remains a remarkable building with turrets, domes, spirals, and minarets. As you gaze up at its towers, you can see the Petronas Towers in the distance, a fascinating contrast of the old and the ultramodern.
