Catch a ferry
From this port you can catch "ferries" to various parts of the island. This is used more for leaving Sardinia and to reach Genoa and the Italian peninsula. If you want to get a boat or ferry for trips within the island or even to go to Corsica, the neighboring island, there are other places on the island with smaller ports which are more comfortable.
