A few kilometers from Kaikura, on the main road going north, we visit this vantage point, from which we will see plenty of seals. I could see seals and sea lions in many parts of the South Island, but like this, none. Recommended 100% . it's free.

Un altra colonia di foche, questa volta sulla costa est, nella localita` di Kaikoura, famosa come centro per le immersioni e per l'avvistamento di balene. La colonia si trova poco a nord del centro del paese, ed e` facilmente avvistabile proseguendo lungo la highway che scorre lungo la costa. Le foche in quest'area sono tantissime, ed effettivamente stando con gli occhi aperti si potranno notare ovunque sugli scogli lungo la costa in questa area

Another seal colony, this time on the east coast, in the locality of `Kaikoura, famous as a center for diving and whale watching. The colony is located just north of the town center, and is easily spotted continuing along the highway that runs along the coast. Seals in this area are many, and actually being with your eyes open you will see anywhere on the rocks along the coast in this area
