Of Magangué to Mompox
I got a bus to Magangué Cartagena and thought that to reach Mompox I just had to take a boat directly to there.... but I was wrong and it was not so easy. First you have to decide which of the 2 ports you go to, as one route is faster than the other. The fast boat, a little more expensive, is much better. This port is opposite the cathedral. I chose the other mistakenly, basically because I was told that the boat would leave the port a few minutes later. I had to wait almost an hour to leave. After 45 minutes in the boat on the river Magdalena, you get to a place called Bodega. The first thing to do there is to take a taxi, in my case a motorcycle, to a place called Broken Bridge (I was told that they are thinking about rebuilding it).
You then take a rowing boat that crosses the river. Once across the river, the best option is to share a taxi and, after 30 km, you will arrive in Mompox. It was complicated to get to but I really enjoyed this lovely village.
