Notre Dame Church

Around the church of Notre Dame is where Rodamadour has grown from the High Middle Ages. You can access the church in two ways, coming from the high part of the city, or climbing the stairs where pilgrims climb each of the 100 steps on their knees, making them tired and sore. In its dark and tidy interior, you can see the Black Madonna, known as Our Lady of Rocamadour, where only a little light enters the detailed windows. Outside, there's a replica of the sword in the rock, Durandal sword, that belonged to Roland.
