A historical museum
The Norwood Park Historical Society Museum is located in Chicago. Norwood Park's first settlers were, of course, the Native Americans. Their trails are still evident in the streets today: Higgins Road, Milwaukee Avenue and Talcott Road. The first non-Native American settler, Mark Noble, came to what was then the town of Jefferson in 1833. He and later farmers, including Henry Rincker, were drawn to the fertile prairies and highlands. In fact, Union Ridge, one of the highest points in Cook County, runs through Norwood Park.
