North Berwick

North Berwick is a tiny town with just over 6,000 inhabitants located on Scotland's eastern coast, south of the capital of Edinburgh. Founded in the medieval era, it has a fascinating history as it has passed between Scotland and England more than 10 times. Today it is in England...for now, at least! It was historically a stopping point for pilgrims following the way of St Andrew, which explains the existence of a small, ancient hermitage in honor of the saint. In the Victorian era, it became popular with high society for its bay. Today it is a small fishing village with one of the widest selections of seabirds in the country.
