Best waterfall in Alabama
Noccalula Falls, located in Gadsden, Alabama, are perhaps the most famous and beautiful waterfalls in the entire state. The Noccalula Falls themselves are pretty impressive: they stand at over 90ft. tall and there's a trail running through the gorge they created that takes you past caves and etchings from the Civil War days.
The falls get their name from a legendary Cherokee princess named Noccalula who threw herself over the falls after being ordered by her father to marry a man she didn't love. Grizzly histories aside, the modern park is a fun place for people of all ages. Adults will like hiking through the gorge and admiring the falls, kids will like the petting zoo, and couples will surely enjoy a romantic stroll through the botanical gardens full of azaleas.
