Nimbin
Known as the alternative capital of Australia with its plantations of and high consumption of marijuana, Nimbin is also known as the last stronghold of the country's hippy. The truth is that I was a little disappointed. Several shops in the main street are a touch hippy but otherwise it is not what I expected. But the place has spectacular scenery and the majestic mountains are places of worship for the natives. There is also an important industry of photovoltaic panels and many houses generate their own power using solar panels.
